San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival 

THE US GRANT is excited to partner on many enticing events throughout the 2014 San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival! Below is a listing of those events which will be hosted at THE US GRANT, but also make sure to buy a ticket to the Grand Tasting Event at Embarcadero Park on November 22 to taste the Grant Grill station and cheer on Chef Sam Burman as Chef of the Fest!

  • 100 Years of Inspiration and Innovation:  November 19.  10 Course homage to 100 years of culinary trailblazers, each course paired with craft cocktails and wine. 

  • 1,000 Point Tasting with Master Sommelier Frederick L. Dame:  November 19.  A bucket list tasting of Old World vs. New World wines. 

  • Wine Spectator Celebrity Chef Dinner and Live Auction:  November 20. Join nationally acclaimed celebrity chefs and 15 wineries for an unforgettable evening.
  • Stump the Masters Blind Tasting:  November 21.  The ultimate blind tasting with world renowned Master Sommeliers vs. San Diego's own.

Thanksgiving Buffet  

Celebrate the season with THE US GRANT, San Diego Thanksgiving Buffet - a cherished holiday tradition that never ceases to amaze. A bountiful array of seasonal specialties and traditional holiday fare takes guests on an epicurean journey from the warm Spiced Apple Cider welcome to the all-encompassing housemade desserts, paired alongside a freshly brewed cup of specialty coffee and espresso.  Along the way, savor fresh salads and soups, specialties from the Land and Sea, Chef Mark's family recipe Pierogi station, and of course, the traditional Holiday fare of slow roasted Turkey Breast with Stuffing and Gravy, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Acorn Squash and more. Live music completes the San Diego Thanksgiving holiday in style.

Sugar Plum Fairy Luncheon

Your favorite characters from The Nutcracker are making a special visit to THE US GRANT! Create a lifetime of Nutcracker memories when you join the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends for an exquisite holiday experience.  Savor a 3-course holiday menu prepared by Executive Chef Mark Kropczynski and mingle with characters from City Ballet’s The Nutcracker who will visit each table to answer questions, sign autographs and be available for photographs.  Continue the afternoon bliss with the 2pm matinee performance of City Ballet’s award-winning The Nutcracker - a quick walk away at the historic Speckels Theatre (please note, ballet tickets are sold separately).

12 Days of Christmas 

An extraordinary experience for one lucky pair of "turtle doves" this December who will be whisked into 12 days of VIP San Diego Christmas experiences, pre-arranged and provided compliments of THE US GRANT with their 12-night Presidential Suite reservation. Inspired by the "12 Days of Christmas,"  experiences gifted range from "leaping" off the clips of Torrey Pines in tandem paraglide to creating two "golden rings" with a private workshop at a local San Diego studio to feeling the gentle "drumming" of a US GRANT Spa therapist performing a relaxing holiday-inspired body treatment.

New Year's Eve:  Bivouac Club 

The Bivouac Club returns for its third year with new surprises to ring in 2015 San Diego New Year's Eve in frozen fashion!  Celebrate a captivating night snowed in at THE US GRANT's Celestial Ballroom (a known Speakeasy during the days of Prohibition) as it flashes back to its heyday, fused with the modern, urban energy of today's most popular nightlife experiences.  Sip champagne and craft Scandinavian cocktails, count down to midnight and dance to dual performances by the Bivouac's live band and DJ.
