San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival 

THE US GRANT is excited to partner on many enticing events throughout the 2014 San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival! Below is a listing of those events which will be hosted at THE US GRANT, but also make sure to buy a ticket to the Grand Tasting Event at Embarcadero Park on November 22 to taste the Grant Grill station and cheer on Chef Sam Burman as Chef of the Fest!

  • 100 Years of Inspiration and Innovation:  November 19.  10 Course homage to 100 years of culinary trailblazers, each course paired with craft cocktails and wine. 

  • 1,000 Point Tasting with Master Sommelier Frederick L. Dame:  November 19.  A bucket list tasting of Old World vs. New World wines. 

  • Wine Spectator Celebrity Chef Dinner and Live Auction:  November 20. Join nationally acclaimed celebrity chefs and 15 wineries for an unforgettable evening.
  • Stump the Masters Blind Tasting:  November 21.  The ultimate blind tasting with world renowned Master Sommeliers vs. San Diego's own.

  • Bargain Bordeaux Tasting and Master Class:  November 21.  Explore Gold Medal Winners and the top under-$40 wines. 

  • Stella Artois' Party After Dark:  The Official After Party:  November 22.  Raise a glass to toast to an incredible epicurean journey, with a custom mixology station by our very own Mixologist Jeff Josenhans, Stella-sponsored Beer Experience and mingling with Celebrity Chefs, including Grant Grill Chef de Cuisine Sam Burman.

Thanksgiving Buffet  

Celebrate the season with THE US GRANT, San Diego Thanksgiving Buffet - a cherished holiday tradition that never ceases to amaze. A bountiful array of seasonal specialties and traditional holiday fare takes guests on an epicurean journey from the warm Spiced Apple Cider welcome to the all-encompassing housemade desserts, paired alongside a freshly brewed cup of specialty coffee and espresso.  Along the way, savor fresh salads and soups, specialties from the Land and Sea, Chef Mark's family recipe Pierogi station, and of course, the traditional Holiday fare of slow roasted Turkey Breast with Stuffing and Gravy, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Acorn Squash and more. Live music completes the San Diego Thanksgiving holiday in style.

Sugar Plum Fairy Luncheon

Your favorite characters from the Nutcracker are making a special visit to THE US GRANT! Create a lifetime of Nutcracker memories when you join the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends for an exquisite holiday experience.  Savor a 3-course holiday menu prepared by Executive Chef Mark Kropczynski and mingle with characters from the City Ballet’s Nutcracker who will visit each table to answer questions, sign autographs and be available for photographs.  Continue the afternoon bliss with the 2pm matinee performance of the City Ballet’s award-winning Nutcracker - a quick walk away at the historic Speckles Theatre (please note, ballet tickets are sold separately).

Nutcracker Holiday Tea

Celebrate the timeless tradition of afternoon tea, hosted in THE US GRANT's festive grand lobby.  This year, Executive Chef Mark Kropcaynski finds holiday inspiration from The Nutcracker to curate a delectable menu of sweet and savory tea sandwiches, scones and pastries to complement your selection of  loose leaf teas and champagne.  Live music carries on the holiday theme of The Nutcracker for an elegant afternoon with family and friends.
